When you visit the website

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics, and does not store anything in your browser.

Like any website, the server that delivers the pages receives technical information with each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, and your browser’s user-agent. This is handled by our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc., only to deliver the website and keep it secure, and is kept for the provider’s standard log period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

When you email us

If you write to Alcedo@Alcedo.is, for example to request a demo, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to answer you and, if you ask for one, to arrange a demonstration. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible agreement (Article 6(1)(b)) or our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).

We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and then delete it. Our email is provided by Google Workspace (Google), which stores these messages on our behalf.

Staff login and the Alcedo application

The “Staff login” links take staff to the Alcedo application, which is a separate service. This website never sees or handles accounts or passwords. How the application processes data is described separately to its users.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Our hosting provider (Netlify, Inc.) and our email provider (Google Workspace) process data on our behalf and under our instructions. Netlify is based in the United States, and Google may also process data there. If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this happens only with the safeguards required by the GDPR.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and the Icelandic Act on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data (No. 90/2018), you can ask us:

Write to Alcedo@Alcedo.is. You can also complain to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, Persónuvernd (personuvernd.is).
